It’s time to start planning your first essay of the year.
Step 1 is ALWAYS to make sure that you have a strong thesis. We just learned about those. Remember? Your thesis needs to be one sentence. It needs to be clear. It needs to be an opinion that could be argued/debated. It needs to be reasonable. Good thesis statements contain information about how you’ll go about proving your point.
Once you have a good thesis (or at least a strong, clear idea and have some ideas for how you’ll prove your point) you can start planning the structure of the essay.
